Day 1 of the Kites and Big Cats Regatta is under way. The race course saw consistent breeze all day, building slowly from 16 to 24 knots. Top five riders battled it out with lead changes and tight starts. A strong international continguent showed up to compete and lots of America’s Cup spectators were treated to some epic kite racing. More tomorrow!

The American Kiteboarding Association is pleased to announce that we have published the notice of race and registration form for the Kites and Big Cats regatta.

We have updated the schedule to mesh with the Americas Cup and moved our event to include the weekend where the spectators will be much larger.

Updated schedule is July 19th to the 21st.

Notice of Race for North American Kiteracing Championships 2013 published

The Notice of Race for the 2013 North Americans has been published. The event will be held from 03 to 07 of June, 2013, at Chrissy Field, San Francisco, and hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club.The Notice of Race can be found here:

Registrations are accepted with immediate effect, and applications can be made here:

Please note that the event is ENTRY LIMITED to 80 men and 40 women, selected as stated in the Notice of Race. Applying sailors will be informed immediately after close of registration (13 of May, 2013) and then have to pay the entry fee within 10 days to secure their starting place. Places not taken will go to the waiting list thereafter and the original application becomes VOID.
